VW_Navigation_SystemAccording to AAA, more than thirty percent of Americans travel fifty miles or more for the holidays. Over the past three years the percentage of those opting to drive instead of fly has nearly quadrupled. If you are among the road warriors this holiday season, your Volkswagen navigation system can help you make the most of the journey, instead of focusing on the destination.

How To Operate The Volkswagen Navigation System

Your Volkswagen’s RNS 315 Navigation system is remarkably user friendly and maps out your route in four easy steps:

Press the NAV hard key.

Touch the flag icon on the screen.

Begin entering your destination starting with the state, then city, street and number. Once you have entered this information, hit “ok”.

Press the “start” soft key.

The RNS 315 Navigation system will then automatically calculate the fastest route to your destination.

If the fastest route is not your top priority, you can reset your navigation system to calculate the shortest or most economical route instead. It can also be done in four easy steps:

Press the SETUP hard key.

Select “route options” on the screen.

Select “route criteria” on the screen.

Choose between fastest, economic or shortest route.

You should note that once you change the route criteria, it will remain your default setting until you change it again.

The holiday season can sometimes be stressful; especially if there is a road trip involved. Any step that can help alleviate the stress and anxiety of the holidays is a welcomed addition to most.  For this holiday season, let the Volkswagen navigation system be your hero by taking away a stress or two.
